Venus & Jupiter Conjunction

If you happened to look up in the sky this past week, you may have noticed two bright "stars" in the West after sunset. Actually, you are seeing Venus and Jupiter in a close encounter with one another. They are about 3 degrees apart on March 12 and 13, 2012. Last night I ventured outside with my camera mounted on my tripod and began snapping away. Unfortunately, they are right in line with the flight path and I got a few pictures that reflect that. But somehow, they add a little character as you can see by the picture on the right.

So go on outside tonight and look up to see this beautiful sight. And then turn around and look towards the East to see Mars chasing after them.

Featured Photo

I'd like to say thank you to Daphne of Ellenburg Photography for once again featuring one of my photos in her blog this week. This week, my Gerber Daisy photo was featured in the top 10 for this week's theme, Flower Power. Please take a moment to check it out. If you see any other photos you like and you have a Flickr account, please click on the photo and leave them a comment. Everyone loves a little feedback :)

Flower Power

I know I haven't posted in a while, but I joined Ellenburg Photography's Project 52 over on Flickr. This week's theme was Flower Power. While the flowers are not yet blooming here, I had to go to the local grocery store and look for inspiration. I found a bouquet of Gerber Daises, which I love.
